Laboratory Techniques

Our lab focuses on cognitive testing, clinical assessments, and genetic biomarkers to assess the interplay of cognition, environment, and inflammation in bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Neuropsychological assessments  include paper-and-pencil tasks to assess memory, language, and spatial abilities, among other cognitive domains. Clinical assessment includes a structured interview and self-report questionnaires. We also use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in combination with neuropsychological assessments to further understand brain functioning and dysfunction while performing tasks across different cognitive domains.
